Keeping our family together – Gregg Family

Three year-old Connor Gregg and his family are from Googong near Canberra, but have called Ronald McDonald House Westmead home, for over 100 nights.

Born 7 weeks premature, Connor has never been able to use his bowels. He’s had multiple surgeries over his young life, receiving a Colostomy and then later an ileostomy when the colostomy wasn’t effective.

Together with big sister Lola (5), Mum Whitney and Dad Dave, Connor will continue to spend time at Ronald McDonald House as his treatment continues.

His Mum Whitney, says the House is an amazing support to her family.

“It's a place to meet others who understand and can relate, the staff are all amazing and take the time to get to know us.  Going to the House really does feel like going to see family, such that when we have to go back to hospital, rather than being worried, the kids are excited.

Being able to keep our family together has had a massive impact on all of us. It makes each day just that bit easier, especially for our daughter who gets very worried about her brother and is anxious when they are apart.

Without Ronald McDonald House I can't imagine how much harder Connor’s treatment and condition would be. We thank them from the bottom of our heart”.
