Hugh

Our 6-month-old son

Hugh's Story

Ronald McDonald House Wagga and its volunteers are a beautiful group of people that go above and beyond to help families in need during a very critical time of when their child/ren are unwell.

For our family we made a quick trip to Wagga one late Friday night with our 6-month-old son Hugh. Hugh was admitted to Wagga Base Hospital and remained in hospital for a week, being diagnosed with a form of Infantile Epilepsy.

Coming from a remote rural area, the Ronald McDonald House helped take the pressure off having to find accommodation and they are so close to the Hospital, which is very convenient as only one parent was allowed to stay in hospital at a time.

The staff and volunteers at Ronald McDonald House were very accommodating with helping us get a room on such short notice and continued to keep that room available for us for as long as we needed.

Being a non-for-profit organisation, our family will go above and beyond to give back and will happily support in any possible way we can in the future. We would love for more of the community to push for more fundraising events to help this amazing charity continue supporting families.

We are so grateful for this organisation and cannot thank the staff and volunteers enough for the help and support over this worrying period of time in our son’s life.
